Windsor Fabrications has been producing quality fiberglass component parts for the '33 - '34 Fords since 1977. In 1980 the decision was made to produce fiberglass bodies. We decided to stay with the Model 40 ( '33 - '34 Ford ) rather than branch out into other years. We chose to concentrate our efforts on closed cars, as there are several manufacturers already reproducing open cars.
Oak was chosen as the major reinforcement in our bodies, rather than steel, as it is the most compatible with fiberglass in the two most critical areas: adhesion and expansion and contraction.
Although steel is used in our bodies (gussets, support brackets and mounting brackets) it's always through an intermediary of wood and fasteners (screw and carriage bolts). They haven't invented a fiberglass that will stick to steel!
When you concentrate on one thing, there is only one way to do it-RIGHT!
