CHEVY/GMC 1947 - 1955 CLASSIC UPDATE SERIES ADVANCED WIRING SYSTEM
Designed Specifically for your Classic Truck
(For '47 2nd series to '55 1st series)
Fuse box and custom aluminum mounting plate are designed for bolt in under dash installation. All required hardware is supplied along with detailed installation instructions. Location selected for easy accessibility and clearance of under dash accessories such
as heat and A/C units, original GM and after market steering columns, and wiper systems. The Nylon 6/6, 18 fuse, fuse box is circuit breaker compatible on power circuits and incorporates 11 additional power tops.
New ignition switch is included for dash mounted applications. Connectors and terminals are also supplied for GM column mounted ignition switches.
Rear body harness assembly is designed for easy plug-in to under dash harness. Flexibility in
harness design allows for original or custom routing to rear lights. Additional wiring and terminals included for overhead dome light circuit, under dash courtesy lights, and third broke light.
Accessory disconnect provided with fused or circuit breaker connections to power windows,
power seats, cruise control, electric fuel pump, power door locks, extra radio (C.B.) or optional power accessory.
Replacement headlight switch with internal circuit breaker included. Retention collar nut,
adjustable length shaft, and custom billet aluminum knob also included.
New floor dimmer switch is provided. Wire length can accommodate original floor mount dimmer a switch if desired.
Rear body wiring includes backup light lead wires and mating connectors, license plate light connectors and terminals, under dash courtesy lights and door jamb switches, and special terminals included for original style dome light assemblies. (Both original and reproduction dome light assemblies include an integral switch.) Extra wire is included for original or custom fuel tank mounting.
Original design rear body weatherproof boot and tube assemblies and original design light sockets make attachment to tail light assemblies an easy plug-in. (Lead wires are tong enough for custom routing applications.) 1 947-53 trucks use mating connectors and tube assemblies for tail light housings. 1954 and 55 trucks use boot & tube assemblies and special tail light connectors for tail light housings.
High heat and abrasion resistant XLPE wire withstands -60F to +275 degrees. Wires are ink-jet printed every two inches with circuit descriptions. GM color coding system is used throughout.
Steering column connection plugs into any GM steering column using
the supplied connector and terminals. 1969-74 columns and after
market steering columns using a 1969-74 (3-7/8") GM turn signal
switch connector (i.e., IDIDIT), are a direct plug in. 1975 and later
columns and after market steering columns using a 1975 and later
(4-1/4") GM turn signal switch connector (i.e., FLAMING RIVER) are a
direct plug-in using the supplied mating 3-7/8" connector.
Heater control panel lighting, power, and blower motor leads are included for after market heat and A/C units.
Under dash courtesy lights and door jamb switches are included.
Engine wiring includes power and tachometer connectors for both points type and HEI distributors. Alternator connectors are supplied for GM "SI" series internal regulator alternators (the most common for alternator conversions). Connections for CS 130 and CS130D are available separately.
Engine wiring includes standard
starter and gauge sender leads for water temperature, oil pressure, and tachometer. Heavy 8 gauge alternator leads are supplied. Power circuits are fusible link protected.
Front lighting wiring includes extra long leads for special routing when custom under hood appearance is desired. All headlight connectors and terminals are provided. Connections also provided for parking and directional lights, as well as wiring for electric engine fan.
Instrument Cluster wiring is designed with "cluster harness
disconnects" making installation and service easier by
unplugging and removing the individual cluster housings. All
original terminals, connectors, and light sockets are supplied
for original cluster gauges. Additionally, with the extra
connectors and terminals supplied, any compatible aftermarket
gauge cluster can be easily and neatly wired-in individually.
This includes individual gauges as well as quad (4 integral gauge) gauge assemblies.
