

What makes the Classic Update series harness kit better than the
competition?
The Classic Update Series design philosophy is to build complete “full function” systems and engineer them for easy access,
easy installation, and connectivity with common update accessories. All while allowing for future expansion. Each kit is a
completely new design engineered around the specifications and physical dimensions of the 1955-56, and 1957 body styles as
well as the space constraints imposed by many after market accessories vying for the limit-ed space under the dash. These kits
are not generic street rod products marketed to 55-57 cars. Superior design has given the builder complete flexibility to use
original stock switches and components as well as custom update acces-sories, such as; DAKOTA DIGITAL instruments,
RAINGEAR wiper systems,VINTAGE AIR heat and air conditioning sys-tems, IDIDIT and FLAMING RIVER steering
columns, and late model GM tilt steering columns. The fuse box was cho-sen for its adaptability in mounting configurations and
its ability to handle the increased current loads demanded by power accessories such as power windows, power seats, power
door locks, cruise control, etc. It is a proven GM design that incorporates heavy duty circuit bussing. There is no circuit board
in this high power fuse box assembly as the potential power demands are too high for a circuit board design. It is this attention
to detail that removes the engineering exercise from the builder and makes installation much smoother.
Technical specifications and features:
Fuse Box incorporates 18 fused circuits and expansion capability for 11 additional power circuits. Fuse Box base measures
4.0” x 6.0”. and is molded in heat resistant Nylon 6/6. All necessary mounting hard-ware included. Fuse link protection on fuse
panel power feed. Circuit breaker capability on power circuits. High heat and abrasion resistant XLPE wire withstands -60F to
275F degrees. General Motors wire color coding system. Wire circuit ink-jet printed every three inches. Wire circuit take-off
points predetermined to clear under dash accessories allowing pre-termination of most circuit branches and plug-in installation
of most circuits. Standard turn flasher, 4-way hazard flasher, and horn relay mounted on fuse panel. 8 Gauge alternator power
lead wire supplied with fuse link protection. Alternator connector supplied for GM “SI” series internal-ly regulated alternators
and “one wire” alternators Original boot and tube assemblies with original light socket connectors included for installation into
exist-ing or reproduction tail light housings. Even custom applications require these assemblies for weather protection.
Terminals and connectors are provided for all dome light and door jamb switches covering 2 and 4 door models.
Front lighting includes headlight connectors and head-light bucket grommets. Light sockets and boot and tube assemblies
included for 1955-56 front parking and directional lights. Front parking light bar connec-tor, light sockets and boots included
for 1957 front parking and directional lights. Extra long wire leads are supplied for custom routing. Complete wiring for
updated GM steering column, direc-tional signals and hazard switch. Mating connector and terminals supplied to adapt to
original steering column. Ignition switch connectors supplied for GM columns with ignition switch in column. Engine wiring for
points type and HEI distributors. Power and tachometer connectors supplied for GM HEI dis-tributors Gauge sender leads are
provided for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel, voltmeter and tachometer. Power wiring for electric engine fan, fuel pump,
power windows, power door locks, power seats, cruise con-trol and accessory radio is included. Instrument Cluster
disconnect built into under dash har-ness for complete flexibility in gauge cluster selec-tion. All original terminals, connectors,
and light sockets are supplied for original cluster gauge wiring. Cluster disconnect also supports any custom gauge
configuration. (AUTOMETER, VDO, CLASSIC, etc.). Late model GM Headlight switch included. Floor mounted dimmer
